26 Sep A Day In The Life Of Anna Mac – Stylist, Business Owner & Mother
A Day In The Life Of Anna Mac
We recently hung out with the lovely @anna.mac_, Stylist, clothing label owner @andie.kids, Mum to 2 gorgeous boys, with another bub due any moment! We asked her about her daily routine, how she manages to balance mum life, business life and somehow managing to always look effortlessly chic (#jealous!)… Read more to hear how she balances motherhood and business, whilst still maintaining a strong sense of self.
What Does A Typical Day In The Life Of Anna Mac Look Like?
A typical day consists of the chaos of the morning routine of school drop off, although I’ll always try and incorporate a morning coffee run in there somewhere. My three year old loves to start the morning letting out our pet chickens, Penny and Johnson, and collecting the eggs.
Then together we will do some sort of activity, whether it’s at the park, a play date with friends or if the weather is bad it’s off to Latitude so that he gets to run around and burn some energy.
I might fit in a little work, whether it’s a photoshoot to capture some content for my fashion and lifestyle blog Anna Mac, or working on my Melbourne made kids label, Andie Kids.
I try to find time during the day somewhere to be active, perhaps work out at home, (I am loving work out apps like 28 by Sam Wood or the pregnancy Tracy Anderson workouts). These normally involve the kids joining in or rather crawling on top of me. Or if I am lucky a private Pilates session.
Fast forward to the end of the day and it’s the dinner and bed routines. When the kids finally head to bed I’ll always find time for housework and emails.
Give Us Some Insight Into Your Morning Routine?
An average morning starts with a warm lemon drink and a protein smoothie to kick start the day. I always have to begin the day with a good brekkie and I have to eat first thing when pregnant – towards the end of this pregnancy my appetite has really gone up.
I used to be a beauty therapist so I never fail with a good skin routine. Every day I apply a good vitamin C serum – I am currently obsessed with the Re.fresh Vit C Serum by Re.Plastic Surgery. Followed by sunscreen and some mineral makeup.
Then, it’s school drop off and off to my local cafe Bricki to grab a weak almond cap, on the rare occasion I don’t have Otis it’s off to clinical Pilate class. Being active is the best way to start the day.
Can You Share Your Top 3 (Secret!) Tips For Creating Balance Across Family, Business & Personal Life?
I don’t know if I am the best person to ask ’cause I am still trying to find that perfect balance if it actually exists! I try hard to schedule work around childcare days and when my mum can help out because working from home with kids around doesn’t always work and I struggle to feel present.
If I have to work with the kids I try to take them somewhere first get their energy out and give them some kid time then get stuck in, or I can normally take them to kid-friendly events and work on photo shoots around their schedule.
Finally always find time once in while to head out and catch up with girlfriends, to take a break from the routine.
What Do You Do For Self-Care?
I always find time for a workout, and to be active as mentioned, but also I love my eyelash extensions (lifesavers with constantly tired eyes) and regular facials.
I see Face by Sonia @facebysonia for Dermaplaning – Which removes the little fine hairs off your face, (peach fuzz) and exfoliates your skin, for astonishing makeup application.
Also, I head to Jeune Cosmetics – @littleroomofbeauty for a DermaSweep which is a serum infusion for collagen and hydration facial (mention my name and get 20% facials). Both treatments are safe to have when pregnant and breastfeeding.
Whether it’s after-hours appointments or weekends I make the time to have these treatments, so I feel good about myself.
We Know You Are A Big Lenny Rose Fan! What Is Your Favourite Piece?
The classic black tights are my fav and I am wearing them the most atm. They hold everything in the right places, making them very flattering for workouts and just right for comfort during pregnancy, I wore them right through from 18 weeks onwards.
What Are You Currently Wearing The Most?
The Harem Pants – they are going in my hospital bag along with the More Than Mama Nursing Tee. This is my go-to outfit for these last couple of weeks and for recovery.
Comfiest and the best quality fabrics, and the elastic waist that doesn’t cut in, the loose fit drop length crotch is what I really need towards the end.
What Do You Love Most About The Lenny Rose Brand?
I have mentioned this before but the quality and feel of the fabric, they are so well made, super soft and fit so well. Clearly a massive fan.
